America 250: Celebrate the Horse
June 13, 2026
11:00 am to 4:00 pm

Event Details:
What better way to celebrate America 250 than by remembering the horse and its part in building this proud nation. The South Side Historical Village is sponsoring this event with a grant from Beaver County. We invite the community to participate in and attend this event on Saturday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Historical Village at the Hookstown Fairgrounds.
Plans include a Fun Show game day for horse and rider in the arena, demonstrations on caring for a horse to include shoeing, harnessing, saddling and bridling. Roping demonstration and practice will be available in the upper barn. We will have a team of work horses to demonstrate pulling and plowing and to give wagon rides along with other teams of horses with wagons/carriages. Also on the schedule is a presentation on mustangs, a road apple 50/50, a horse basket raffle, and more! Contests in coloring, drawing, and photos will all focus on the horse.
Some local musicians will perform, and a chuck wagon style lunch and home-baked goodies will be available in the lower barn. We hope you will join us for a special day. Contact Barbara Rupert 724 573-4569 if you would like to participate in any way.
